Your favourite random cats of 2009

Hello and happy New Year!

Before we post our first cat of 2010, we just wanted to thank all of you for submitting cats, commenting and liking blog posts, and in general taking an occasional peek at this blog in 2009. It’s much appreciated, and great to know that we aren’t the only people who love meeting new cats in unexpected places.

In 2009 we posted around 70 of your random cat encounters. Thank you. The three most popular countries for random cat encounters were England,  the USA, and Australia, and the most frequent cat types were ginger, tabby, and black and white. As far as cat personalities go, the most popular cat personality tags were friendly, sweet and stately. (Funnily enough, all of this seems to add up to back up the evidence that ginger tabbies do seem to be rather friendly and outgoing creatures, no matter what country they live in)

We’ve received cat submissions from every continent in the world except for Central/South America. An amazon voucher prize is on its way to the first person who can submit a great cat encounter from that continent.

Of those 70 cat encounters, here were the ones that you liked the best:

In joint first place it’s the lovely random Jellicle cat from October

and Blackie the wonder-cat from November – the only cat we’ve had so far with super-powers!

and in third place it’s the enigmatic New York City kitty from December

Thanks again for all the submissions. 2010 cats on their way!
